For Gemb Xerxa's painting exhibition "TOKEQJELL," which translates to Earth and Sky, I had the privilege of designing the catalog. Inspired by Gemb's dedication to recycling and nature conservation, as well as his fascination with the cosmos, I sought to capture the essence of his artwork and concept.

Drawing from Gemb's innovative technique of using corroded color scraps from failed paintings, I incorporated a tactile element into the catalog's cover. By tearing away the lower portion, I revealed the hidden title "TOKEQJELL" underneath, symbolizing the transformation and renewal inherent in recycling. This torn portion served a dual purpose: inviting viewers to the exhibition while delivering a powerful message about sustainability.
Furthermore, I treated the lower part of the catalog cover to mimic the composition of Gemb's paintings, with the tiny pieces representing the Earth below and the vast expanse of sky above. Each torn catalog cover became a unique representation, with some revealing only the "TOK" (Earth) part of the title, while others exposed the "QJELL" (Sky) portion, echoing the individuality of Gemb's artwork.
This design not only complements Gemb Xerxa's exhibition theme but also serves as a tangible reminder of the interconnectedness between humanity, nature, and the cosmos.
